About Carry & Spin

Last updated

Carry & Spin is an independent research publication about home golf simulators: launch monitors, enclosures, screens, mats, projectors and the software that ties them together. I started it because most of what ranks for "best launch monitor" is written by the stores that sell them.

What's different here

  • I sell nothing. No store, no own-brand mats, no packages. Retailer guides are often useful (I cite them), but they have inventory to move. I don't.
  • No free units or paid placements. No brand has sent me a product or paid to be included.
  • Every claim is sourced. The launch monitor database covers 32 models and links to every manufacturer page, retailer listing, manual and owner thread I used.
  • Real cost, not sticker price. Yearly plans can double what a launch monitor costs, so they're in every comparison.
  • I say what I haven't done. I don't claim hands-on testing I haven't done. When someone else tested a product, I name them.

Who runs it

Nouman Sabir

Nouman Sabir founded Carry & Spin and edits every page. Nouman reads the makers' manuals and plan pages, retailer listings and owner forums, works out what each setup really costs, and keeps every claim linked to its source. Nouman is a researcher, not a golf pro, and says so.

Expert review panel

PGA professionals and hands-on launch monitor testers check the technical side of the guides: Neil Barnhill (PGA of America Member, YouTube), Scott Hogan (PGA Certified Professional, YouTube) and Matt Saternus (Founder & Editor in Chief, Plugged In Golf, YouTube). Meet the panel.

I write and update every page following my research method and the editorial policy.

How the site makes money

Some "check price" links can earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. That never decides what I recommend. Details are in the affiliate disclosure.
