SkyTrak golf simulator: ST MAX packages and costs

SkyTrak is the brand I'd look at first for a short room on a mid budget. The ST MAX sits beside the ball, and the packages built around it are some of the best value I found.

SkyTrak replaced the SkyTrak+ with the ST MAX in late 2025. It's a camera-plus-radar unit that sits beside the ball, so you don't lose space behind you to a radar unit, which is the most common problem in basements and spare rooms.

The catch is the membership: course play needs SkyTrak's Core plan from year two, and GSPro isn't officially supported.

Which one I'd buy

SkyTrak ST MAX

There's really one SkyTrak to buy new right now. At its $1,695 sale price, with year one of Core included, the ST MAX is the best-value unit I found for short rooms.

The room a SkyTrak simulator needs

SkyTrak says 10 ft of ceiling "typically offers ample clearance" and that many golfers find 9 ft enough. It suggests 12 ft of width (add 1–2 ft if lefties and righties share) and 17 ft of depth as comfortable. Its studio minimums run from 8.5 × 15 ft for the 8-ft studio up to 14 × 17 ft for the deep studio.

Because the unit sits beside the ball, it has to move to the other side for a left-handed golfer.

Check your own numbers with the room size calculator or read the full room size guide.

Plans and software

SkyTrak's own membership page lists Essential at $99.99, Core (Foresight courses) at $299.99, Core (Trackman courses) at $349.99 and Elite at $599.99 a year. Course play starts at Core. Other sellers show different prices, so I trust SkyTrak's own page.

GSPro's FAQ doesn't list SkyTrak; owners connect it unofficially.
