The best golf simulator enclosures

The enclosure holds your screen and keeps stray shots off the walls. Your choice is between a kit that arrives ready to assemble and a DIY frame that saves money.

DIY frames on EMT conduit

Both DIY kits use 1" EMT conduit; Carl's Pro and Curved kits use 2". Carl's sells a pre-cut, powder-coated 1" pipe kit for $325–$375, which is a good ceiling for what local pipe should cost. Owners on Golf Simulator Forum cut EMT with a conduit cutter (one said about 8 minutes a pipe) or a reciprocating saw with a metal blade (about 20 minutes for all of them). Skip PVC: GolfersAuthority says it bends too easily.

Sizing and clearance

Leave 2–3 in above and on each side of the frame (Carl's Place) or 6 in per side (Shop Indoor Golf), and at least 8.25 in behind Carl's DIY enclosure. Stand 10–12 ft from the screen.

Questions people ask

How much does a golf simulator enclosure cost?

Kits I found run from $999.95 (Carl's DIY kit, pipes extra) and $1,619.99 (SIG DIY kit) to $1,799.99–$2,499.99 (SIG8/10/12) and $3,409.95+ (Carl's Pro).

Can I build my own golf simulator enclosure?

Yes. Shop Indoor Golf and Carl's Place sell DIY kits with fittings and a screen; you buy 1" EMT conduit locally. Avoid PVC, which bends too easily.
