The best golf simulator software

The software is what you actually look at every session, and on some launch monitors it's also the biggest yearly cost. Here's how the main options compare.

My picks

  • Best overall: GSPro ($250/yr). The software most serious home builders end up on. It needs a Windows PC with a decent graphics card.
  • Best value: Awesome Golf ($159.99/yr or $349.99 lifetime). Runs on almost anything, including iPad, and the license follows the launch monitor rather than the device.
  • Best curated courses: E6 Connect. Carl's Place praises its course quality, though customization isn't as deep as GSPro's.

The gateway-plan catch

On several launch monitors, GSPro won't connect until you also pay the maker: Uneekor Pro ($199/yr), Rapsodo Core ($199.99/yr) or Foresight+ Gold ($599/yr, which also covers Bushnell). Units that connect to GSPro without one include Square Golf, FlightScope Mevo Gen2, Full Swing KIT and Garmin (through a connector).

Decide the software first

If GSPro is your plan, choose a launch monitor without a gateway plan and you'll save $199–$599 every year. Full breakdown in launch monitor subscription costs.

Questions people ask

What is the best golf simulator software?

For most home builds with a Windows PC, GSPro ($250/yr): realistic ball physics, 2,500+ community courses and 31 supported launch monitors. Awesome Golf ($159.99/yr or $349.99 lifetime) is the best value if you want something family-friendly that runs on more devices.

Does GSPro work on a Mac or iPad?

No. GSPro is Windows 10/11 only. Awesome Golf runs on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iPad/iPhone and Android.

How much is E6 Connect?

TruGolf now hides most E6 prices behind a login. Older published tiers were Basic $300/yr and Expanded $600/yr; a home lifetime license for TruGolf APOGEE was $1,000 one-time (sold out).
