Prices: US street prices seen 2026-10-27. 3-yr cost = price + 3 years of the plan most owners need for course play (free first years subtracted). Depth = maker's stated minimum where published; when it isn't, the depth filter assumes about 16 ft for units behind the ball and 15 ft for units beside or above it. GSPro = connects to GSPro (some need a gateway plan; see each review). Club data = at least one club value listed as measured.
How to read the results
Short room? Look at units beside the ball or overhead: they don't need space behind you. Radar units behind the ball are cheaper and better outdoors but need 14–18 ft from the unit to the screen. Not sure of your numbers? Run the room calculator.Questions people ask
Which launch monitor has the lowest 3-year cost?
Among real ball-tracking simulators, the Swing Caddie SC4 PRO and Ernest Sports ES Tour Plus 2.0 need no plan, and the Garmin R10 costs about $800 over three years with Garmin Golf. They measure less than camera units, so cheaper isn't automatically better value.
Which launch monitors work in a 12–13 ft deep room?
Units beside the ball or overhead are the safest bets in short rooms: Square Golf, SkyTrak ST MAX, Foresight GC3, Uneekor EYE MINI and Garmin R50. Most radar units need about 14–16 ft or more; the Blue Tees Rainmaker needed about 13 ft in one reviewer's test.
Why do some launch monitors show a plan as required?
Trackman iO and Trackman 4 need a yearly software subscription to work after the first year. Others make plans optional but lock simulator play or third-party software such as GSPro behind them, which is why we count the typical plan in the 3-year cost.
