Blue Tees Rainmaker review
This is a 2026 radar unit at R10 money that needs a bit less depth. The hardware shows promise; the app isn't there yet.

My take on the Blue Tees Rainmaker
One reviewer had it working with about 13 ft of depth, a little less than most radar units, and outdoor ball speed and carry look good for $599.99. GSPro is supported.
The app is the weak spot: limited club makers, no custom names, missing irons in the menus, enough for one buyer to return it. Indoor wedge spin is inconsistent. And despite some sites calling it subscription-free, the LAUNCH app costs $79 a year after year one.
I'd wait a few app updates. If they land, this becomes a strong budget option for slightly shorter rooms.

What I'd check before buying
- The $79/yr app fee from year two
- App maturity
- Indoor wedge spin
How I put this review together: I haven't had this unit in my own bay. It's built from Blue Tees Golf's own pages, retailer listings, published reviews and owner reports, each linked below. My research method.
The real cost of the Blue Tees Rainmaker
I saw it at $599.99. The LAUNCH app costs $79/yr after year one, even though some sites call it subscription-free. GSPro adds $250/yr.
| Plan or add-on | Per year | Required? | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|
| LAUNCH app / AI Analytics package | $79.00 | Optional | First year free. App features incl. extra metrics (side, hang time, descent angle, landing spin etc.), 3D range, unlimited storage. Standalone modes work without app. |
- Year one
- $929
- Three years
- $1,587
- Five years
- $2,245
My math: price + the yearly plan a typical owner needs to play full courses ($329.00/yr). Excludes net, mat, screen and projector. Compare every plan.

The room it needs
The Blue Tees Rainmaker is a radar unit (behind ball (5 ft, at ball height, on target line)). Radar units read the ball's flight, so they need space behind you for the unit and enough distance in front for the ball to fly before the screen.
| Unit behind the ball | 5 ft |
|---|---|
| Ball to screen (minimum) | 8 ft |
| Room depth (minimum) | 13 ft |
| Room width (minimum) | Not published |
| Ceiling (minimum) | Not published |
| Indoor / outdoor | Indoor + Outdoor |
| Special balls or stickers | none required; radar-enhanced balls (e.g. Titleist RCT) may help indoors |
Not a manufacturer spec: Plugged In Golf got consistent results with just under 8 ft of ball flight at 5 ft behind the ball (~13 ft total). IPX4.

What it measures (and what it estimates)
Makers rarely label which numbers are measured and which are calculated. Where the sources split them, I show it. A calculated value isn't useless, but it's more likely to drift indoors.
Measured
- Not stated by the maker
Calculated / estimated
- side
- side total
- hang time
- descent angle
- apex time
- landing speed
- landing spin
Lists ball speed, launch angle, launch direction, apex, carry, total, back spin, side spin, spin axis, attack angle, club speed, club path, smash factor (20 metrics). App-only metrics are 'unique to the Blue Tees Physics Engine' (modelled). Measured vs calculated for the core metrics not published.
Software and compatibility
Native apps: Blue Tees LAUNCH app, on-device 4.3 in LCD. Runs on iOS tablets, Android tablets (not phones per Plugged In Golf).
| Simulator software | Works? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| GSPro | Yes | only full sim support at time of review |
| E6 Connect | No | 'coming soon' |

Easy to use, tons of data, accuracy on par with its price class; slightly behind MLM2PRO in reviewer's view.

subscription
Stymie: none required; Plugged In Golf: LAUNCH app $79/yr after first year; Blue Tees: AI Analytics 1 yr free
I use: $79/yr optional app fee after year 1 (Hands-on review plus manufacturer's '1YR FREE' wording implies a later fee)
