Rapsodo MLM2PRO review

This is the cheapest way I found to get spin that's actually measured instead of estimated. The catch is the Core plan: budget it as part of the price, because the simulator modes don't work without it.

I'd buy it if

Budget buyers who care about spin and don't mind a yearly plan.

I'd skip it if

You want to pay once and own it outright.

My take on the Rapsodo MLM2PRO

On paper the MLM2PRO and the Garmin R10 are the same price. In practice they're different products. The Rapsodo pairs radar with two cameras, and with its RPT balls it measures spin rate and spin axis. It also reads club path and attack angle without stickers, which owners say is accurate.

Where it loses me a little is ownership cost. GSPro, E6, Awesome Golf and Rapsodo's own course play all sit behind the $199.99-a-year Core plan, so three years comes to about $1,150. Owners also report Wi-Fi drops mid-round and slow, email-only support, and one owner says the unit has to re-authenticate every 24 hours.

If spin numbers matter to you, because you're working on your driver or fitting wedges, I'd pick this over the R10. If you mostly want to play courses for fun, the R10's cheaper plan wins.

What I'd check before buying

  • RPT balls for measured spin (a dozen Pro V1 RPT is $69.99 from Rapsodo)
  • Core plan $199.99/yr for any simulator play
  • About 14 ft of total depth (Rapsodo's FAQ)

How I put this review together: I haven't had this unit in my own bay. It's built from Rapsodo's own pages, retailer listings, published reviews and owner reports, each linked below. My research method.

The real cost of the Rapsodo MLM2PRO

I saw it at $549.99 (list price $699.99). Simulation, GSPro, E6 and Awesome Golf only work with an active Core plan ($199.99/yr). Indoor spin needs RPT balls.

My math: price + the yearly plan a typical owner needs to play full courses ($199.99/yr). Excludes net, mat, screen and projector. Compare every plan.

Where to buy

The room it needs

The Rapsodo MLM2PRO is a radar + camera unit (behind ball). Radar units read the ball's flight, so they need space behind you for the unit and enough distance in front for the ball to fly before the screen.

Unit behind the ball6.5 ft
Ball to screen (minimum)8 ft
Room depth (minimum)14.5 ft
Room width (minimum)Not published

Special balls or stickersRPT balls required for measured spin

Rapsodo: device 6.5-8.5 ft directly behind the ball; indoors about 8 ft ball-to-net, so a little more than 14 ft total. Taller players may need more room behind. 'Full functionality indoors and outdoors.'

What it measures (and what it estimates)

Makers rarely label which numbers are measured and which are calculated. Where the sources split them, I show it. A calculated value isn't useless, but it's more likely to drift indoors.

Measured

  • ball speed
  • club speed
  • launch angle
  • launch direction
  • spin rate
  • spin axis
  • club path
  • angle of attack

Calculated / estimated

  • carry distance
  • total distance
  • side carry
  • smash factor
  • apex
  • descent angle
  • shot type

Spin rate/axis only measured with RPT-marked balls ('Golf balls with RPT are required to show spin numbers'); 3 Titleist Pro V1 RPT balls included. Club path and AoA were added by firmware in May 2025. Advanced metrics need Core membership.

Software and compatibility

Native apps: Rapsodo Golf app, Rapsodo PC app, Rapsodo Courses. Runs on iOS, Android, PC (Windows).

Questions people ask

How much does the Rapsodo MLM2PRO really cost?

$550 at the street price I saw on 2026-10-27. Simulation, GSPro, E6 and Awesome Golf only work with an active Core plan ($199.99/yr). Indoor spin needs RPT balls. By my math that's about $1,150 over three years and $1,550 over five.

Does the Rapsodo MLM2PRO need a subscription?

No plan is required for the core features. Simulation, GSPro, E6 and Awesome Golf only work with an active Core plan ($199.99/yr). Indoor spin needs RPT balls.

Can you use the Rapsodo MLM2PRO outdoors?

Yes, the maker and retailers list it for outdoor use as well as indoors.

How much space does the Rapsodo MLM2PRO need?

It sits about 6.5 ft behind the ball, and the ball should be at least 8 ft from the screen, so plan for 14.5 ft of depth.
