FlightScope Mevo Gen2 review

This is the no-subscription unit I'd buy if I practiced outdoors as much as indoors. It's radar plus image processing behind the ball, with no yearly fee, but it wants a deep room indoors.

Carry & Spin is reader-supported. If you buy through links on this page I may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. It never decides what I recommend, and no brand pays to be included. Affiliate disclosure

My take on the FlightScope Mevo Gen2

FlightScope's line on the Mevo Gen 2 page (FlightScope writes it Gen2) is "$0 recurring fees", and that's the reason to buy it. You get the FS Golf app and an E6 Connect course bundle, and extras like the Pro Package are one-time purchases. Three years costs about $2,049 if you add GSPro, and $1,299 if you don't.

Owners like that it picks up every swing and gives sensible attack-angle and low-point readings, and the battery is a big step up from the Mevo+. Because it sits behind you on the target line, lefties and righties can share it without moving anything.

The cautions: some owners see iron spin reading high and carries short, the speed-training mode under-reads by a lot, and the Face Impact add-on struggles in dim rooms. Indoors you'll want about 16 ft of depth and metallic stickers or RCT balls. In a shorter room, I'd choose a side-of-ball camera unit instead.

What I'd check before buying

  • About 16 ft of room depth
  • Metallic stickers or RCT balls indoors
  • Pro Package add-on cost if you want full data

How I put this review together: I haven't had this unit in my own bay. It's built from FlightScope's own pages, retailer listings, published reviews and owner reports, each linked below. My research method.

The real cost of the FlightScope Mevo Gen2

I saw it at $1,299.00. No subscription. Extra features are one-time add-ons (Pro Package). Full course play usually means GSPro ($250/yr) or E6.

Plan or add-onPer yearRequired? What it unlocks
None required$0OptionalCore data, firmware and software updates are free; 8 E6 Connect courses included as lifetime ownership
Pro Package (paid add-on)—Optional11 extra parameters incl. club path, face angle, face-to-path, swing plane, low point (full D-Plane). List $1,000; PlayBetter sale $699. Retailers price it as a one-time purchase.
Face Impact Location (paid add-on)—OptionalClubface strike location heat map. List $499; PlayBetter sale $350; Pro Package + FIL bundle $975.
E6 Connect 12-course upgrade—Optional12 more E6 courses for a one-time $250

Three years

My math: price + the yearly plan a typical owner needs to play full courses ($250.00/yr). Excludes net, mat, screen and projector. Compare every plan.

Where to buy

The room it needs

The FlightScope Mevo Gen2 is a radar unit (behind ball (7-9 ft behind tee)). Radar units read the ball's flight, so they need space behind you for the unit and enough distance in front for the ball to fly before the screen.

Unit behind the ball7 ft
Ball to screen (minimum)8 ft
Room depth (minimum)16 ft
Room width (minimum)Not published
Ceiling (minimum)Not published
Indoor / outdoorIndoor + Outdoor
Special balls or stickersAluminum stickers (100 included) or Titleist RCT balls required for accurate spin in limited-flight (indoor) setups

FlightScope: sensor 7-9 ft behind tee (8 ft typical), at least 8 ft of ball flight; FlightScope's 2026 comparison blog says at least 16 ft total indoors. Putting: 5 ft sensor-to-tee plus 8 ft roll. Sits behind the hitting area so left and right-handed golfers can share it without moving it.

What it measures (and what it estimates)

Makers rarely label which numbers are measured and which are calculated. Where the sources split them, I show it. A calculated value isn't useless, but it's more likely to drift indoors.

Measured

  • ball speed
  • club speed
  • vertical launch angle
  • horizontal launch angle
  • spin rate
  • spin axis
  • angle of attack

Calculated / estimated

  • carry
  • roll
  • total distance
  • apex height
  • flight time
  • lateral landing
  • smash factor
  • spin loft
  • shot dispersion
  • shot type

FlightScope lists the parameters but does not label each as measured or calculated; the split above follows the usual convention (flight outcomes are model outputs). PlayBetter says FlightScope claims 18 directly measured metrics. Pro Package adds 11 parameters (club path, face angle, swing planes, low point). Putting: launch speed, total distance, ball direction.

Software and compatibility

Native apps: FS Golf, FS Skills, FS Multicam. Runs on iOS, Android (select devices), PC (Windows).
