Foresight Sports GC3 review

At $3,999 (down from $6,999), this is my pick for the best overall home launch monitor: proven camera accuracy that fits short rooms and works outdoors. The September 2026 plan changes are the one real knock.

I'd buy it if

Serious practice in a small room with accurate short-game data.

I'd skip it if

You want GSPro without a $599/yr gateway plan.

My take on the Foresight GC3

The GC3 is the unit I'd point most serious home golfers to. It's a three-camera unit beside the ball, so it doesn't need depth behind you, it works on the range, and owners who compared it with a SkyTrak say its data, especially on wedges, is clearly better. The face-on and down-the-line video after each shot is a nice extra.

What changed is software. On September 18, 2026 Foresight replaced FSX with Foresight+ plans. Data is free, but Foresight's own courses need Silver plus Course Pass (about $494 a year together), and GSPro needs Gold at $599 a year. Long-time owners called it a bait-and-switch, and some are selling. I understand why.

So here's how I'd decide. If you'll play Foresight's courses or just practice, it's excellent value at today's price. If GSPro is the plan, add $849 a year to your budget, or look at a Uneekor EYE MINI, which needs a cheaper gateway plan.

What I'd check before buying

  • Foresight+ Gold ($599/yr) for GSPro
  • The full setup (enclosure, projector, PC) pushes a GC3 build toward $10K
  • Club markers for club data

How I put this review together: I haven't had this unit in my own bay. It's built from Foresight Sports's own pages, retailer listings, published reviews and owner reports, each linked below. My research method.

The real cost of the Foresight Sports GC3

I saw it at $3,999.00 (list price $6,999.00). Data is free with Foresight+ Free. Course play needs Course Pass ($295/yr) on top of Silver ($199/yr); third-party sims like GSPro need Gold ($599/yr).

Plan or add-onPer yearRequired? What it unlocks
Foresight+ Free$0OptionalBall and club data on Foresight-branded devices, 10 sessions history
Foresight+ Silver$199.00OptionalUnlimited history, practice tools, Course Pass eligibility
Foresight+ Gold$599.00OptionalSwing video, profiles, club comparison, third-party integrations (GSPro)
Course Pass / Course Pass PRO$295.00Optional35 courses ($295/yr) or 110-111 courses ($595/yr); needs Silver or Gold
Year one
$4,493
Three years

Five years

My math: price + the yearly plan a typical owner needs to play full courses ($494.00/yr). Excludes net, mat, screen and projector. Compare every plan.

Where to buy

The room it needs

The Foresight Sports GC3 is a camera-based unit (side of ball (beside hitting area, level with ball)). Units beside the ball read the launch with cameras, so they need little depth, but they must move to the other side for a left-handed golfer.

Unit behind the ball0 ft
Ball to screen (minimum)Not published
Room depth (minimum)10 ft
Room width (minimum)10 ft
Ceiling (minimum)9 ft
Indoor / outdoorIndoor + Outdoor
Special balls or stickersNo special balls; club markers for club data

Foresight does not publish room dimensions on the product page. PlayBetter's GC3 guide: ~10 ft depth in body text but 12-15 ft in its summary box; 10 ft width (12-13 ft with larger screens); 9 ft ceiling. 7 x 10 in hitting zone. Unit must be moved to switch between right and left-handed golfers.

What it measures (and what it estimates)

Makers rarely label which numbers are measured and which are calculated. Where the sources split them, I show it. A calculated value isn't useless, but it's more likely to drift indoors.

Measured

  • ball speed
  • launch angle
  • side angle
  • total spin
  • spin axis / side spin
  • club head speed (markers)
  • club path (markers)
  • angle of attack (markers)

Calculated / estimated

  • carry
  • smash factor

Foresight lists these as the GC3 data set. No face angle or impact location (those are GCQuad/Falcon features). Club data uses included club markers.

Software and compatibility

Native apps: Foresight app, Foresight Premier (PC; replaced FSX Play/FSX Pro in Sept 2026), built-in touchscreen. Runs on iOS, Android, PC (Windows gaming PC, RTX 3060 or better per PlayBetter).

These outlets published their own reviews. I summarize their headline verdict; read the full review for their testing details.

Where the sources disagree

I show the conflict and which figure I used, rather than quietly picking one.

price

$3,999 (Foresight, PlayBetter today) vs $6,999 (Golf Digest, Golfers Authority, PlayBetter Oct 2026 review comparison)

I use: $3,999 current, $6,999 MSRP (Manufacturer page fetched today shows both)

room depth

PlayBetter guide says 10 ft in body and 12-15 ft in summary

I use: plan for 12+ ft (Larger figure is safer for ball-to-screen clearance; maker gives none)

subscription needed

PlayBetter FAQ says no subscription required; Foresight+ tiers gate Premier features

I use: Data works free; extras need Silver/Gold (Bushnell/Foresight+ table: Free tier includes club data on Foresight devices)

Questions people ask

How much does the Foresight Sports GC3 really cost?

Does the Foresight Sports GC3 need a subscription?

Can you use the Foresight Sports GC3 outdoors?

Yes, the maker and retailers list it for outdoor use as well as indoors.
