Full Swing KIT review

This is premium radar for golfers who practice outdoors a lot and have a deep garage. Owners say it tracks close to a fixed Trackman range; indoors it wants space.

I'd buy it if

Golfers who practice outdoors a lot and have a deep garage.

I'd skip it if

Your room is under about 18 ft deep.

My take on the Full Swing KIT

Full Swing's KIT is a radar unit with an OLED screen and 4K swing video, and owners who've used it next to a Trackman range say the numbers line up closely. Build quality and the app get consistent praise.

It's outdoor-first. Full Swing's own space guide puts the KIT 8–10 ft behind the ball with 8–10 ft of ball flight, and calls 18 ft of depth the minimum indoors. Some owners say short chips aren't read, and one who compared it with a GC3 saw indoor carries a few yards short.

Software is the other consideration: Full Swing's own simulator software is $500 a year and tied to Studio packages, so most owners use GSPro. If your practice is mostly on the range and you have the depth at home, it's a great unit. Otherwise a camera unit is easier indoors.

What I'd check before buying

  • About 18 ft of depth indoors
  • GSPro rather than Full Swing's own $500/yr software
  • Screen glare in direct sun

How I put this review together: I haven't had this unit in my own bay. It's built from Full Swing Golf's own pages, retailer listings, published reviews and owner reports, each linked below. My research method.

The real cost of the Full Swing KIT

I saw it at $4,999.00. App Premium is optional ($99.99/yr). Full Swing's own sim software is $500/yr; most owners use GSPro ($250/yr).

My math: price + the yearly plan a typical owner needs to play full courses ($250.00/yr). Excludes net, mat, screen and projector. Compare every plan.

Where to buy

The room it needs

The Full Swing KIT is a radar unit (behind ball). Radar units read the ball's flight, so they need space behind you for the unit and enough distance in front for the ball to fly before the screen.

Special balls or stickersNo stickers; RCT balls recommended indoors.

Full Swing: indoors 8-10 ft behind ball and 8-10 ft ball flight to screen; outdoors 10 ft behind ball. PlayBetter: 16 ft room depth minimum, 18 ft preferred. Shop Indoor Golf: 10 ft behind tee, room 9 x 13 x 21 ft.

What it measures (and what it estimates)

Makers rarely label which numbers are measured and which are calculated. Where the sources split them, I show it. A calculated value isn't useless, but it's more likely to drift indoors.

Measured

  • ball speed
  • launch angle
  • horizontal launch angle
  • spin rate
  • spin axis
  • club speed
  • club path
  • face angle
  • attack angle

Calculated / estimated

  • smash factor
  • face-to-path
  • carry distance
  • total distance
  • apex height
  • side carry
  • side total

Full Swing lists 16 'measured' metrics. Radar tracks full flight outdoors; indoors it only sees the first few feet, so flight is modeled (Breaking Eighty). Full Swing recommends Titleist RCT balls indoors (PlayBetter).
