Comparison

Trackman 4 vs Foresight GCQuad

These are the two units fitters and tour players trust. One is radar behind the ball, the other is four cameras beside it. For a home room, that difference matters more than the data.

My verdict

On data alone there's little to separate them: an owner who ran them side by side at home called the difference negligible. So I'd choose on the room and the running costs.

The GCQuad sits beside the ball and fits a normal-depth room; the Trackman 4 needs 16–18 ft from unit to screen. Trackman's software is required and costs about $1,100 a year after year one, while Foresight's data is free and its plans are optional. For a home studio, I'd pick the GCQuad. For range plus studio coaching, the Trackman 4.

Choose the Trackman 4 if…

  • you coach or practice on the range as much as indoors
  • you have a long room
  • you want Trackman's software ecosystem

Choose the Foresight GCQuad if…

  • your room is a normal depth
  • you want free data with optional plans
  • you want the deepest measured club data
